About Me
Manijinder Nagra
Non Exceutive Director
Growing up with 3 older football mad brothers, it was inevitable that back in the 80’s Manjinder’s first sporting love was football. She grew up an avid Liverpool fan but having never the opportunity to play the beautiful game, she went on to proudly wear the Red Rose while playing rugby for England Students at University. Manjinder stands as the first Asian woman to achieve this feat and play representative rugby, showcasing her trailblazing spirit. Having played for country, county and club, Manjinder remains an impassioned coach and mentor with over three decades of immersion in the rugby world.
Recognising the pivotal role of sports in empowering young girls, she founded Hove Girls Rugby in 2016, fostering a nurturing environment across four teams spanning U12 to U18 age groups. More recently, Manjinder founded British Asian Women in Rugby and British Asian Women in Sport and spotlights female Asian successes to inspire the next generation. Manjinder’s contribution to sport was recently recognised when she was inducted into the British Asian Rugby Association’s Hall of Fame 2024 and also received an Inclusion Award. Manjinder extends her influence to governance, notably serving on England Rugby’s Discipline Panel and also sits on the judging panel of the Asian Sports List.
