Coach
Kirsty Lanksford Born in SE London, lover of the game since I could walk. Best memoriesare Dad always rolling me a ball at home & tekkers on the school playground! I’ve now got three kids of my own, we live in Seaford since moving here 5 years ago. I work as a learning mentor to children & teens in East Sussex and volunteer as club chaplain to Lewes FC Women.
Club Football I currently play for Seaford Town Women’s Flexi team in Seaford as a midfielder. I didn’t play club football as a youngster, learning in the school playground, at the park & at Millwall summer camps! My family are committed Christians so things might have been different if it was Saturday league!
In my early 20s I trained with Croydon Athletic & Holmesdale Keets FC. Since moving I have also played for Newhaven DS and a 5s team in Whitehawk.
Coaching I currently help coach Seaford U9 girls and U13 boys teams as a Qualified FAcoach working towards my UEFA C license. I really enjoy the technical aspects of coaching.
Ambitions To keep playing football, learn from amazing coaches around me, complete FA qualifications, and deliver progressive sessions that develop the youngsters I see each week. Would love to travel and play or coach internationally with the teams I am part of. Ultimately I want to be a role model to girls, so they can enjoy playing football in a safe space where they are valued not just for their ability but who they are as a person.
Inspiration I wanted to be like Ryan Giggs as a kid! Football itself inspires me, it’s like art, and speaks a language that connects people all over the world. The perseverance and passion of so many people have inspired me including players & coaches I have worked with, theSeaford U9 girls & U13 boys teams, and my family who are always cheering me on!
